For this session we had to do the opposite to last week, which would be the worst nightmare that could happen with our bachelor thesis. I came to the following points:
Increasing discrimination instead of reducing it
Excluding groups of people, minorities
Creating even more social biases
Not finding suitable interview partners / contacts
Not finding answers
Hit a dead end, getting lost
Additionally, we had to look through past bachelor thesis from the Interaction Design alumni. I don’t want to call out specific projects, but I can say that for a few projects there would’ve been a lot more potential especially in terms of the final product. I think some students eventually got lost in the written part when for me the final realization would be the most important part of the whole thesis. I think it’s important to keep a balance between the physical and written parts of the bachelor project since the quality of each part will influence the outcome of the other parts.
