Our assignment for today's session was to bring a poster of a campaign that contributed to inspire, to bring awareness and to awake individuals and collectivity towards action.
The poster I chose was a campagne pro women's suffrage in Switzerland. I chose it because it's kind of biased, since it's pro equality but still using sexist stereotypes. Even though it's about women's suffrage, it still only shows a man on the poster. The men had to vote «Yes» for the women, so the kiss on his cheek initializes that the man only voted «Yes» to achieve stereotyped pleasures from his wife, not because he wants equality for everyone.
The man is shown as the hero of the women, when it's actually essentially been the women that fought to get to this point. The poster shows that even if its pro equality, the sexism is anchored way deeper.
